What model X5 xDrive35l

We recently purchased a 2012 X5 35l, my question is how do I tell what model we have...i.e. base, sport, premium. Thanks in advance.

Yikes.

Don't you ask this BEFORE you set a price?!?

Hey, water under the bridge.... WELCOME to XOutpost!

Take your VIN (actually the last 7) and enter it into a BMW decoder...
there are many, here's one: bimmer.work : VIN Decoder for BMW

Thanks for the reply and thanks for taking it a little easy on me. I knew when I posted the question it sounded I was was an idiot for not knowing for sure, I suspected it was the sports version and using the decoder you supplied I confirmed. Thanks!

Remember, there is a difference between the Sports Package which is an ///M package and the Sports Activity Package.

My X5 has that. It's a trim package. Sort of a non-performance oriented sport package. Shadow-line trim, anthracite headliner, 19" wheels, color-keyed roof rack, etc.

We enjoy our X5. The ride is a little “stiff” on some roads, but most of the time we really enjoy the ride.

Someone will correct me, but your 2012 has a standard suspension. The 'sport' has nothing to do with 'performance, handling, ride, etc' only some trim.

There are M versions, with different suspension. And there is (very expensive) option AD, which is an active suspension.

When you next buy tires, pay attention- tire choices can have a dramatic impact on ride quality.

enjoy!

I wonder how I find out what suspension it does have. I’m already studying up on tires....
Thank you.

You are correct, ard. Of course, upgraded suspension could be optioned with the Sport Activity as it didn't affect the suspension itself. It came with the sport steering wheel also. Actually, I don't believe there are many suspension options available for these E70.
