Can you scan the car with something appropriate like ISTA, NCIS or something? I’m curious if some bus is taking it all out of the game.

YIKES

BMW quote £1200 on replacement (new) amp. Ones on ebay £6-700 without any guarantee they wont go bad either.

Anyone refer a trusted repairer in UK (or USA if they do international shipping option).

Nope, don't have above. Was thinking about getting foxwell NTS510...

Anyhow going to ship amp off to Romania for repair, decided to use these guys:
https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/repai...lifier-repair/

The 2 companies I approached in UK would not even give me an ball park approximate quote online / phone. Both want me to send unit, pay for diagnosis and then they will quote. Hook you then sting you - I was born at night but it wasn't last night!

Will update on progress... so will still be whistling in car for next wee bit ;(

Got Logic 7 amplifier unit back from these guys https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/
re-fitted and all sound back. Superb!

Cost to ship UK to Romania £22 tracked by road. (Used WPS who subcontracted to DHL)

Repair by Mura 150e (Euros) including 1 year guarantee. Invoice states power board repair.
Shipping Romania to UK (by air) 20e

So total cost was less than £180 sterling. Lovely jubbly.
Compared to £1200 for new unit, second hand on ebay at £350-650 (with no guarantee it would last) the repair route made sense.

I cannot recommend Mura Car Accessories enough, their email response to initial query, confirmation emails of accepting delivery, repair completed, testing unit and paypal invoice, with priority shipping was top notch. Well done and thanks guys if your reading this.

DHL deserve credit as well. Unit picked up in Romania and delivered to my address in Scotland within 23hrs.

Thursday, September 05, 2019 Location Time Pieces

- all happy days with sound back in car -
