No fuses. That wasn’t what the service I bought was.

What I read is that most common fault are fuse , motor or cable. And if it’s the circuitboards chips related I think when you send it out for repair you will get the same unit with the same problem back

That sounds like a generic ‘fixya’ answer. Most common failures are gears in the module, cables, and/or solder issues (not in any order). The repair services can address any/all of that. They’ll bench test units for errors prior to returning. Of course this is all subject to buyer confirming what they’re getting when they buy a repair service.

Could there also be a possibility that after a repair of the motor inside or fuse that you need to reset the fault inside the emf module ?

I’m fairly confident there are no fuses in the module. Either way, I didn’t have to reset anything. Fix the problem and the light went away. But I also have the ability to clear codes and my experience may not be the same for everyone.

You're going to have to do a little more research but I thought there was a reset procedure during which the vehicle learns the parking brake position. Or maybe that was the sunroof. Or something else. I can't be sure of what I read or if it pertained to the E70. It might depend on the type of parking brake also. My X5d has a drum-in-hat style but some actuate the caliper and have to be reset when the pads are changed.

Ok just received the cable and programs installed.
I see on my desktop BMW CODING TOOL , INPA , NCS DUMMY , NCS EXPERT , TOOL32 , WINKFP. I don’t see ISTA could be I have to buy the program then. Anyone know if I can use one of the programs I have now to reset the parking break module ? |

I’m reading the codes and it’s still giving 600D ECU_EEPROM_DATA error and try to reset the faults but still the same. Anyone any suggestion ?
