2007 Diversity and key ecu

Hi all

I have a Uk spec 2007 E70 30.D

The remote fob which does not have comfort option, will not work. I have tried a new Diversity att, of another model, but the same Part number to no avail
The key works inside to start, and the central locking working when pressed.

Has anybody have any experience of maybe replacing the Key ecu ?
Or any further advice. This is a used motor which I picked up for the Mrs.

You say you dont have the comfort option...but that the key works inside...and the remote button locks and unlocks.

Key fob doesn’t work, key is charged fully
Works as it should to start the car, central locking button works on the dash,
And diversity antenna checked , with no faults
What else could it be ?

Ah, thx for clarifying

have you replaced the remote already? (You should have two anyway...)
Just because it starts the car doesn't mean it is fully working...I seem to recall there are two functions within...a nearfield antenna in the key slot to start the car...and the antenna system in the car that just opens the doors.

But you need two keys for any car you own, right?

Hi Ard

I only have one working Fob. I’ve taken it apart to see if anything is a miss inside
If it’s not the diversity antenna, or a fuse what other options do I have to explore ?

Can you give me ONE good reason you don't buy a replacemnet key fob on eBay?!?!?

That's the best option to explore, if you don't have the proper electronics tools. Hacking apart componebntbcomponjents, looking for 'bad looking parts', replacing this or that on the off chance it fixes it, all seem quite ineffective.

Recognize you do NOT have comfort access- a replacemnt fob for non-CA is not a lot of money AND doesn't need special programming....

Ard

Doesn’t reprogramming a new key require a key fob that works. I have two blanks ready to go
