Can't find crankshaft position sensor on realoem

I am looking for the part number for the wire that connects to the crank shaft position sensor on realOEM. I was told by my dealer that they needed to be replaced because my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. I am thinking of doing the repairs myself because I am not paying dealer prices for the fix the issue.

Can someone help me find the diagram for the crankshaft position sensor and the wire that connects to it on RealOEM? Also, has someone attempted to replace the wires that connects to the position sensors, as I know that the sensor is relatively easy to do, but I am not sure about the wires.

Thanks in advance!

hmmm.

Many people think "I'll go to a dealer for a diagnostic- even though they may be very expensive, they will give me a 'perfect diagnosis' and eliminate the messiness of indies"

Unfortunately, this isnt always true....

Did the dealer (or more accurately the Service Advisor) say 'replace the wire'....and maybe the technician said "Yeah, its the motor subharness". Stuff gets lost in translation between the tech and the gut that talks to you.....

If you search, you may find others that have had 'Christmas tree' fixed by replacing the throttle subharness. If I am recalling correctly...

But I dont know the part number...

I checked the crankshaft sensor, the middle pin is broken in the sensor, and the middle female pin on the crankshaft wire adapter to the sensor is broken too. I am looking for a replacement for the wire or the connector.

ah.

try:

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ording/dDWdTkQ

this is the connector: x6203
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...8i-sav/S11enyA

on the connector detail, it lists some numbers for a cable perhaps and a connector maybe?

looking up the number 7-507-525 (this is a BMW part number without the first xx-yy numbers) I found:

any good?

Yes, I was looking at the blue thing too. I think I am going to buy it, along with some other things to replace, and try it out. I wonder if the blue adapter fits in the crankshaft position sensor.

call them and ask them.

I mean it IS the part number that is specd for a CPS connector replacement. ecs should be able to answer that.

Do keep in mind that if this is like most electronic connectors, the 'pin' that form the electrical contact may be a separate item. Might even have a specific crimp tool too, but this isnt likely too critical.

(People are gonna ask 'any pictures'... just saying. Im always either (1) too dirty or (2) finished w the job ...to take pictures...)

In all my years, ive never seen a Crank sensor 'burn up'.... odd.. any explanation as to how that happened?

I am not sure either but it happened a couple hours after a car wash... but this is the first time in the 13 years since I owned that car that it happened.
