Airbag fault code 93C6 - backrest lock for driver's seat

Last week my 2008 E70 iDrive screen began warning me of an ABS system problem. When I ran the Carly diagnostics, it came up with fault 93C6, which seems to be the back rest lock of the driver seat. Low and behold, none of the driver seat controls work any more either. Looking for suggestions on where to look first, as it seems that the indication is related or directly resulting from the seat controls going INOP.

I need to look at this further over the weekend. I did locate the fuse panel in the rear with the diagram showing the seat and seat heater fuse location(s). I didn't find any popped out. Several weren't even there, which I take it to mean they're not supposed to be since this panel is probably used in various models. It's unlikely anyone pulled them out.

With driver side seat controls that are completely INOP and seat heater working intermittently or not at all (sometimes it stays on and randomly shuts off, other times it won't stay on at all), trying to get some advice on the best place to start looking for the simplest cause.

After more tinkering, found the fuse (101) that failed. After replacing the fuse and clearing the faults, everything is ok...sort of.

I can replicate the problem reliably now:
1.) at idle, turn on driver seat heater. Seat heats up no problem. Seat controls work
2.) begin to drive. Seat heater shuts off within seconds. Restraint system warning Messages come back on Idrive. Seat control stop working. #101 Fuse is popped again.
3.) park car, test seat heater. Works fine (idrive messages and Inop seat unchanged)

Seems we have a short somewhere resulting from change in voltage that may be occurring when driving the car since this does not happen at idle. . Suggestions on what parts to check?

Codes after above failures:

Advanced Crash and Safety Management (ACSM):
- Fault: Driver s seat modules
- Code: 0093C6
<===========================>

Junction Box Passenger / Beifahrer:
- Fault: heated seats driver
- Code: 00A6E0

Seats / Sitze:
- Fault: fast heater fault
- Code: 009E5F

My guess is the short is somewhere in the seat harness.

I'm having this exact issue. Can you perhaps shed some light on how you resolved it? Thanks!

Dealer and an indy both said they would have to replace the entire heating assembly in the seat for lots of $$$. Solution - I don't have heat on the driver seat. And if I inadvertently turn it on, the circuit breaker trips and I then have no mobility on the driver seat either.

Same issue? Seat heating element driver side?

Such an odd fault that it only blows the fuse when the car is driven...and not at idle. At idle it is fine. Wonder how the dealer conformed the diagnosis? Tested pins t the SMFA driver seat module that go to the element? But why would it be OK at idle and not when driving? odd...

So with mine I have the airbag fault in the dash. The heated seat flashes a couple times before going off. And if I try to use the directional pad to adjust the seat it pops the fuse. So appears to be a fault in the back rest portion. I swapped the driver and passenger modules and that did nothing to help. Passenger side all works fine. Super annoying not having the heated seat function as the driver and even my rear passengers have it. Even more annoying is that airbag fault I have to stare at in the dash and Nav. I was going to next inspect the controls on the side like the directional pad to see if anything looked unusual. I think looking at the diagram there are like three units related to the backrest that it could be.

I kno that many SRS faults must be explicitly reset its an SRS reader. I order if you many have a old fault due to either disconnecting something or a fuse blown? Separate from the seat heater issue...
