Pull the hard drive and see if the CIC tries to boot up. I seem to remember a bad HD will prevent booting and removing it and seeing the BMW logo indicates a bad HD.

I replaced the entire unit with one from another car. Just trying to figure out how to get it coded now so my options work. Bimmerfest looks like they have a lot of coding info over there but all my questions go unanswered so not sure if the code gurus are still active there or what. Looks like a lot of info there, just trying to educate myself enough to be able to fix this issue, but not even sure it's possible.

My thoughts were that I needed to change the VIN number and make all the VO codes match my current car. However, I'm not sure where to get the list of current VO codes that are stored on the idrive unit, to get them all turned back on, on the donor unit.
