Also remember that within the system controls is vent temp control. You can adjust the vent air to be as cool as possible or as warm as possible. Many people keep these setting for all vents to be mid temp or even warm which ends up defeating the auto controls as it is a separate control. Go into the settings menu and adjust this to as cool as possible for driver and passenger and see if things improve.

During the summer we exceed 110 on a regular basis and I keep my A/C set on auto for 68 without any issue cooling the interior or losing any airflow with the rear fan on high too!

and the FRM has my right headlight shut off due to a “supply side short” which they diagnosed as a xenon control module and quoted $1800 to fix. .

and I bet they would call you, well into that $1800 xenon fix and say "Welp, turns out the Xenon module also took our your FRM when it failed, so $2200 more"

Just printing money.....

Regarding the wink headlights, swapping the ballast is the usual way to determine where the fault lies. (inside ballast or wiring)

My two cents...

I had 'issues,' with the climate control for months. Frustrated!

Was on vacation in the south (hot and humid.) Had some time and researched why my E70 BMW system was not working as expected and found many complaints with the same issues I was experiencing.

I was driving a friends newer luxury SUV, (not BMW,) on this trip. After two minutes in this newer car, I could not wait to get back to my BMW climate system!

But I learned some things. And adjusted my expectations (and vents.) All bliss ever since.

BMW Climate is still far superior to the competition. But you have to understand it.

Clean the air return sensor. The little vent below the drivers temperature knob. Lint collects in here and prevents accurate sensing. This can have a huge impact.

Note: If the windshield has ever been replaced, insure there is no computer errors from the humidity sensor. This will make your system act crazy.

Next, I adjusted the dash vents to blow past, not on me. Aim high towards the roof, behind my head. And set the dash vent temp, in iDrive, slightly cooler than median.

When adjusting the temp, use small increments two to four degrees, and wait for a couple minutes to see if that is enough. If you are cold at home, do you crank the heat to 80 and wait until you are too hot to turn it down to 60, and repeat?

I keep the auto fan on Intense and let it adjust automatically.

Hot, cold, 100 degree days the temperature is pretty comfortable. Unless I have become overheated before getting in the car, then a couple minutes of MAX does the trick.

1. Clean Sensor
2. Intense auto-fan
3. Dash vent 'slightly cooler'
4. Aim vents to roof behind head. (Feel the breeze, but not directly on you.)
5. Enjoy comfortable cabin.
