Navigation not an option

Hello, iDrive works but the NAV is not listed in the option list, see pic. Does this mean because there's no disk in the drive? or something else? Thanks

Hard to be helpful since you left no vehicle information.

But if you have the 2nd iteration iDrive controller knob...what happens if you press the dedicated NAV button on the right side of the controller knob instead of the MENU button?

Recently bought 2010 x5, same iDrive as on your pic, pressing the NAV button does nothing. I have done the reset, thinking it might help. I don't have map dvd disk. Otherwise iDrive works perfectly

2010 X5 Navigation is hard disk based, you don't need a DVD.
Your display doesn't look like the wide screen that the CIC Nav has.
Use the VIN decoder to confirm you have the S609 Professional Navigation.

Thanks for your responses. I decoded the vin and can't see any NAV. Perhaps my came without any NAV? see pdf

Yep, unfortunately your X5 wasn't ordered with navigation. You can see in the two images below...the 1st one has the S609 option code for navigation (under Multimedia)...the 2nd image is your VIN and it does not list the navigation option code (under Multimedia):

Best solution would most likely be a 10.25" replacement Android head unit.

I see, where to buy it? Can you recommend a specific unit? Thanks

AvinUSA springs to mind but if you do a web search you should find plenty of options.
