New E70 X5 3.0 Starting Hesitation Problem

Hi, my friend has a new 2007 X5 3.0 that is exhibiting a starting (moving from a stop) hesitation problem. Apparently, when he gives it gas after a stop sign the car starts moving but after about a second it kind of bogs down/stutters for about a second before resuming acceleration. I have searched the board but was unable to find any posts that had similar issues reported. The E90 board says that E90s with xDrive also have similar issues. Putting it in DS does not solve it either nor does manual shifting.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Someone on another board was having the same problem and said the BMW was aware of the problem.

I also have noted the hesitation and uneven acceleration in my 4.8.

Anyone who has had the problem been able to have it fixed? Also, anyone who has the car and does not have the problem, please let us know so that we can tell the service advisors that it is NOT "normal". In my opinion it is a dangerous problem that can cause accidents.

I've had my '07 3.0si for a little over 2-weeks now & not having this problem at all. In fact, the more I drive it, the better/more responsive it drives.
