Question Dealer says I can't get tobacco or saddle leather?

Does anyone know why x5's can be ordered in Canada with Saddle leather but not in the states?

Cairns is on a distinguished road
Because the Purchasing Manager for the X5 is an idiot.

During April (unless something changes) you can't get black or tobacco either. You have to wait for a May build.

You would think they would offer saddle at no charge to affected customers. You would think.

Believe me I've tried. I'm hoping something changes.

I have an April build with Black Napa seats and so far I haven't heard of a problem.

I ordered mine, to be built the 14th week, with black nevada perforated leather (for active seat ventilation)

BG624 call BMW Customer Service. They'll tell you- sometimes the dealers are unaware. The fact that you don't know- and that your dealer might not know- and that your order will slip until May at least- is what aggravates me so much about this. I didn't even suspect until I heard about it on this board and called to confirm.

IMO BMW has a duty to inform it's customers when the options they order are not available or are delayed. They're acting like a bad airline. Having bought two new BMWs- and ordered a third- I feel like a first class customer would after sitting on the tarmac for hours and being told nothing.

BTW complaining to their CR department has no more effect than complaining to a flight attendant. They're told the bare minimum and they do their jobs by politely passing that information along.

Cairns- I called BMW customer service and they confirmed that Black Nevada leather will not be available until May production (unbelievable) however I ordered Napa and they say Napa is available.
