A/C always turns on when I turn the car on

No matter what I do, when I start the car, the A/C turns on ... I looked at the manual and it said when lowering the vent to "off" to push it again (at least that's what I got from it). However, it did not work. Does anybody know if there is a setting somewhere causing this and how I can stop it? Thanks!!!

look at page 105 of the manual.

You need to push and hold the left side of the fan button to lower the fan speed all the way, then push it one more time to turn it off.

It was the same in the E53 - turn it off, and when you re-start the car, it came back on at the lowest setting. I've become resolved to just leave it set.

Mine stays off after re-starting the car...but you have to turn it off as I described above. Maybe you arent actually turning off the A/C

this is exactly the case... turn it off ( hold low and then push again to turn off) and turn the car on the next time with it being back on at the low setting. strange !
