Whistle (UPDATE 9/22) Navigation now standard in 2008 Models???

I just spoke to my dealer, and he informed me that he has a customer order in for a 2008 which WAS NOT ordered with navigation, but when the confirmation for the order was printed, it showed navigation as being standard. He has tried to contact BMWNA for clarification, but they have yet to return his communications. I think this would be great news, especially if the price remains the same .

UPDATE 9/22: It has been confirmed that Nav is standard on the 4.8 now LINK

For Canada, comfort access was thrown into the premium package and I *believe* that package has remained the same price. I don't know how many more freebies they'd actually give us. These options were earning them a good buck a thousand at a time. I'm not complaining though, the tax man would be costing me a few more options I'd take under other circumstances.

It all boils down to supply, demand and competition. There's lots of competition these days.

So why doesn't BMW come out with an options list and prices for 2008? I'm waiting for the twin turbo diesel.

The honest truth is that the X5 is overpriced relative to its peers, and the 3.0 is underpowered relative to its peers.
Sales of the X5 have been dismal this year, the 3.0 more especially, and I think this is BMW attempt(if the information being passed to both SuperGreg and rh71 is correct) to nullify some of the price disadvantage the X5 suffers from.
Will this be enough to sway buyers into looking at the X5 as vehicle of choice- I am not too sure, only sales results will tell.

The numbers that I have seen say that they have sold more than 10% more X5s in 2007 as compared to 2006.
