Sport seats and Heads Up, or Comfort Seats

Hi all. I am in a pickle. I just placed an order for an 08 X5 4.8 Black Sapphire w/ Saddle interior. I currently have it spec'd with sport pack and heads-up. However, I am having second thoughts about not getting comfort seats. I have the comfort seats in my E60, and love the articulating upper back support. I have never sat in the standard sport seats on the E70. So, I am not familiar with how comfortable or not they are. I guess, my point, is that I have two questions:

1). Does anybody regret getting the sport seats (w/ sport pack) and not going ahead and upgrading to the comfort seats? How comfortable are they?

2). If I decide to go to the comfort seats, should I drop the heads up and keep the price the same? Are should I say screw it and get both?

Thanks guys...

I see a trend here, first I join e60.net and bimmerfest and buy an E60. Now it is xoutpost.com and a new E70 4.8....I better stay away from m5board....

When the new X5 came out there were numerous people that wished they had gotten comfort rather than sport seats, haven't seen anyrthing lately though. I have comfort seats in my X5 and wouldn't get anything else in a BMW. If you can get both options do it if not get the comfort seats, your in them all the time might as well be comfortable.

I am telling myself to do it. I am just trying to convince myself to minimize my costs...

Then don't get the heads up, the comfort seats are MUCH more comfortable than the sport seats.

How did you get saddle interior? Do you have a confirmed order with a build week? My dealer has been trying to place my order for saddle brown for two weeks but the system won't take it. Did your dealer do something special? I would definetly get the comfort seats.

Sports seats are fine.. Very comfortable and nice and supportive without 100 adjustments to get them there.. if I did a lot of long distance driving though I'd probably go the comfort..

I have the sport seats...comfort could be better, especially for the passenger so the comfort seats are worth it.

Don't skim on the heads up display, I would not live without it, especially when driving more aggressively or using the GPS.

My preferences are rated in this order: 1. Safety 2. Comfort 3. Convenience. You should be able to figure out which one to get first based on how you'll rate your preferences. If you can afford both, then why not. Heck, if I can afford all possible options, I'll get them all.

If you have to choose, then go with the comfort seats. They are absolutely fantastic and IMHO make a huge difference and are a must have

The heads up is a really nice to have - especially when you use the navigation system.

I have comfort now, compared to sport in the old E53. More seat options and extremely comfortable. Now the HUD I thought would be an expensive little attachment I thought I'd never use, but with navigation it is brilliant, no more looking at the center console, it's all on the screen - fantastic!

Am I making this difficult for you?!!!

Cheers,
