it comes with normal USA mirrors.
The mirrors on my SAAB are as you described, and I really can't tell the difference.

I love the European market convex mirrors, really helps with the blind spots.
You may want to investigate ordering the convex mirror panels if you really like them, all you'll have to do is get the part numbers for the driver's and passenger's side mirrors. When my E36 M3 was new and was a street car, someone posted on an M3 board the part numbers and they were direct replacement pieces - would assume it still is the case with the X5 mirrors since it would not make sense for BMW to use different housings and attachments in different markets?

They are direct replacements, just massively expensive. The ones for an E53 X5 run around $300 or so each which is crazy. A 2nd best option is to use the SAE blindzone setting recommendation which is what I do.
BTW I think they take some getting used to, I only drove the car for an hour or so but definitely felt a little dizzy from looking at the mirror. |
