My story from yesterday was not as exciting, nor as fun. Very educational though. By far, snow is more manageable to drive than ice.
Me and a friend tried to go skiing. It ended up being freezing rain and sleet all afternoon. ![]() This dense fog remained on the mountain the whole time, impairing visibility while skiing and driving. When we left at nightfall, I had to wind down the icy 19% gradient access road. Best way to drive was to only switch on the foglamps, as the low-beams blinded me. Max speed as 30km/h tops. ![]() What, about 1,5cm of ice built up on the surfaces and cars. Took me 20min to scrape off parts of the windshield and windows. If you want to read my encounter with black ice, redirect here. |
