It's not so much the wheels but the tires. 21" wheels will require you to run high performance summer tires. You would be crazy to try to drive in the winter with summer tires. They are not designed to be driven in cold weather let alone snow or ice.

I have my original 19" wheels with all seasons for the winter. They are OK although dedicated winter tires would be even better. By having both sets of wheels with tires and TMPS mounted, it's just a matter of switching wheel/tire combinations in the fall and spring.

The other thing you should consider is that the 21" wheels are less forgiving with the potholes here in Boston. They do look great though.

I have been researching on the internet but can't seem to find all weather run flat tires for 21" or 22" wheels that are more than 9" wide.

The best combination I am getting is the Michelin Latitude, which is a 20" all season and fits the BMW 227s (20" siblings of 239s). But these are not run flats.

Can anyone suggest if there are any all season run flats in 20" or more and wider than 9"?
