[QUOTE=mtech8;640402][QUOTE=Markost12;640338]3.Removal of front PDC (they are a joke)
Quote:

Don't take away the front PDC. I use it all the time. Great for gauging how far to park to the wall in the garage. Occassionally useful when trying to get into a tight parking spot.

If anything, they can improve and shorten the distance before the solid beep so people can get even closer.
Yeah I agree, I like the PDC, but they can definitely improve it. Come on, when a Lexus can automatically switch the PDC on when it detects an obstacle in front why do I have to manually turn it on by pressing a button. Think BMW engineers think out of the box

Redesign AC pump better so it doesn't blow air like an asthmatic (no offense),

make the rear seats adjustable (at least lumbar area),

mount the rear ent. screen higher behind seats or on sealing,

get rid of the throttle-by-wire (accelerator pedal sensor crap),

side view mirror make it foldable remotely,

make the seat belt hinge adjustable

better acoustics setup (bass is mudded with sound package)

Internet+ google maps connectivity+ real time traffic make it usable.

Allowing AC to blow into the ventilated seats OR just making the seat actually blow out cold air!

GM has a thermo-electric cooling and heating system works way better than BMW

Back to the PDC ... I wouldn't remove it, but I would like to switch off the rear PDC permanently. This would help alot when you tow or put something on the hitch mount. Sure, I've built my mod to do that but BMW should have provided that setting within i-Drive.

Would like cover art on the i-Drive for my iPod music. That would be nice!

Be nice if rear entertainment system was integrated with front DVD changer. The fact it isn't is just plain silly.

As I mentioned before, the MB Parktronic is superior to the PDC. Basic reason is that Parktronic doesn't have the indicators in the main screen, but has separate indicators in both the front and rear of the car, so they can be active at ALL times when the vehicle is under a certain speed, and very unobtrusive. As mentioned by jeep, requiring the driver to manually activate it really reduces the utility of it.

Overall I am very happy with what BMW have done in their transition from the E53 to the E70. Only a few changes I’d like to see:

1.Providing comfort seats in the rear (Same as F01 7 Series & F07 5 Series GT), considering the E70 X5 is the “flagship” SUV/SAV of the BMW range.
2.Addressing the issue of water falling onto the seats when you open the door.
3.Providing non-runflat tyres as an option from the start.

Anything else BMW decide to do hopefully will come standard so everyone can benefit from it.

I forgot to add another improvement I would like to see:
- Make the damn running boards more useful than just for show. They are useless in rain (though my wife swears by them) and always mess up my trousers. Make them retractable or something. They are also at the same level as the door sill, hmm I thought running boards are supposed to help a person get in, maybe they need to look up the definition, or put a running board for the running board.
