Is there an upgrade to GPS?

I ask because I'm looking to buy a 2007 X5 3.0 but the owner tells me that it does not have GPS. Can anyone tell me if these systems are easily upgraded to include a GPS navigation system? Or does the whole unit have to be replaced? Can it be as simple as installing software? How would I know? Thanks.

They are not easily upgraded. I believe that even the screen size is different.

It would not be worth the cost .. whilst integration is nice the features and resolution are poor ... external GPS is much better ....Unless there is a major upgrade (and not just a hard drive!!) on this in the the near future for my next X I will not specify Nav.
