Love 35d but confused about the wheels
Very confused...did anyone go through the same dilemma? Also considering premium sound, any feedback? Is it's video capability in the navigation screen worth? |

I like the style of 18" wheels (even more than the 19") of the 35d but they could fill out the wheelwells a bit better. You could order the 21" wheels from the factory but you'll pay for it. $6K. Some have said the quality of the premium system is not worth the upgrade but I do not know what it does for/to the nav screen. good luck and these are nice problems to have. |

You can buy the wheels on ebay. Many buy replicas with lots of success. I have the premium sound and I am glad I did. Lots of discussion on this. TO me the DVD changer is worthless. You are going to use the ipod adapter. Who cares if it plays movies when in park?
I agree with you, the 20's on the 4.8 are the best wheel. |

It's hard to understand why the upgraded wheel package is equal to 10% of the price of the vehicle..........and there's no credit for the wheels & tires that are included in the base price........

I don't understand why you can't get 214's on the 3.0 or 35d.

yeah, 214 would be nice... too bad...
Also, it was sad to hear from my SA that 35d is a family/economy car, and 4.8 and X5M are the real SAVs. Although he had all the other good things to say about 35d. Last edited by panbob; 11-06-2009 at 10:08 PM. |

What a dumb thing to say..... SA talks out of their a$$ to much. The 35d is faster than the v8 in 1/4 mile pull and .2 sec in the 0-62mph.... besides the M package body kit, the 35d has the same package and options like the rest of the "real SAV". IMHO, the aerokit looks very nice w/o the M style kits..... besides, if I want real performance, Id get an M coupe.

That's old school mentality... 35d redefines the luxury SAV. It's efficient, yet powerful and responsive - all 425 lb ft worth of it! Granted the rims could be nicer but that does not diminish the status of this marvelous machine.

I would work out which engine - 4.8 or diesel - you want and then worry about the wheels after that. Last edited by Fraser; 11-07-2009 at 01:12 AM. |

Replicas are a crapshoot in my own experience, but they are worth the try over the stock 18" wheels by a longshot. I had 19" 212s and everytime I saw my car I wished for better... not a good feeling. You can sell the stock 18s to someone wanting winter wheels or something to make up for money spent. Assuming this is a purchase and not a lease.
