Any new tips for cleaning the running boards?
So what about the water stains? I've read posts about trouble keeping the boards clean. Somebody painted theirs. Anyone find a good product to protect and prevent the ugly water stains or a foolproof cleaning technique? Mildly abrasive cleansers, scotchbrite sponges, etc. I've read posts from lots of people recently who bought and installed their running boards themselves. What are you doing to keep 'em clean? Please share. THANKS- |

Quite a tideous job, but I use Megs metal polish for the alu. It protects it well and has some water resistant qualitites.
Then top it of with a a bit of Megs UQD for shine and protection with no smear marks . |

The only stains I have experienced on the tops of mine are from the cosmoline in the doors as it heats up and leaks out. I spray a little P21S on my wheel mitt and wipe them down with that (i do the black as well as it seems to pull the stains out of that too).
13k miles and 15 months and mine still look brand new.
