New(ish) X5

So (again) long story short, my 06 X5 had 2 HID issues in less than a month. The second of which being yesterday when she just happened to be in Edmonton which is the closest dealer to where I actually live. I found out they had a 07 4.8i there, so I got them to buy out my contract and send her home with the newer vehicle.

I'm not sure if anyone out there has driven a 06, then 07, but which ones are actually better? The features on the 07 seem to totally outweigh the 06 with idrive, HUD, and a few other ones. Did I just create more problems for myself? My biggest complaint about the 06 was the stereo, and I've heard that the 07 is much better, but is there anyone that knows this first hand? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
