M steering wheel is now free with the Sport Activity Package?

I noticed in the BMWUSA build your own X5 50i 2011 configuration tool that the 'M steering wheel' got added to the sport package. It appears this option can happen at no additional charge once you choose the sport package. I already order my 2011 X5 5.0, My CA never mention this option to me. Not sure what steering wheel I am getting. I would like to have M steering wheel. anyone know the option code for this? maybe it's not too late for me to make an adjustment to my order.

Epacy is an unknown quantity at this point
Interesting. If different, another way of BMW f@cking over it's customers/early adopters...
Not there on Diesel.

I bet you a $1 that this is a screw up on the part of BMW NA and the website configurator. There are a ton of bugs with the 2011 X5 50i configurator. You can't choose between the 19" and 20" wheels in the sports package, it doesn't show the 336 wheels when you choose sports package as well.

Also, when I first was configuring my X5 on the website, I thought you could just check the M sport wheel box in the sport package, maybe pay a bit more and get it, but it flipped my over to having the M Sport package when I selected the sport wheel. This changed a few days ago though which makes me think the configurator is screwed up. If you here differently from your CA let us know because I love the M sport wheel and will likely swap mine out when I get it. I did it on my 335xi and it is my favorite mod.

Yeah, as soon as you choose the M steering wheel, it gives you the M sport package.

I think it's been there all along.

I picked up a 10 3.0 X5 M Sports package to be me daily driver and it has the wheel. But the whell does not have the shift paddles.

If they can be added I'd like to have them though..

edit: sorry, I see what you're talking about now. I misread your post and thought you were talking about the M Sport package.

another glitch

also note that multi-contour seats are included in
the selected 'active ventilated seat package' and
checked off again separately for another 900 bucks.

If it is anything like the "M" wheel that comes with the "M Sport Package" then it will not be heated and will not have the shift paddles.

So the website is wrong, right? No one has been able to order the M Steering wheel with just the regular Sports Activity Package?

My CA is telling me that it's impossible and that whenever they choose MSteering in their system that it changes it to M Sport Package".

BMW still hasn't fixed their website.

The website is wrong indeed. I contacted BMWNA on this and they confirmed that you can't get it without the M package. I tired everything!
