Beautiful! Congrats. How do you like the bamboo trim with the cinnamon?

My dealer doesn't have any 2011 leather swatches (or any on the lot) so all I have to compare cinnamon with is the saddle in my 335. Trying to decide between drk burl and the drk bamboo for my wife's new ride.

Its a lot more like terra in an E90 than saddle, which has always struck me as very yellow-ey in comparison. My $.02

You might be right Thinking about that, the chrome surround front grills look a lot better in person though and tie in the roof rails imo. Id like to paint the roof rails black but, its a bigger job.

Exactly what i thought when I first saw them, and still do!

This is just a suggestion, but if you're worried about rock chips, then think about some clear bra or xpel or something like that. That's what we did and it's paid for itself already just by giving me piece of mind (which for me is pretty hard to get )
Thanks. Going to see how it goes, its a lease and im in CA, probably have 6 trips total to the snow and mountains in the next 3 years...

Thanks. Really like the combo a lot. I had Natural Brown and Bamboo in my last 550 which worked as well. The Cinnamon Brown is a lot more dark brown with a tint of red than it shows in pics. Its not as red as you might have heard. The Bamboo definatley goes with it, in fact, has some of the same color as cinnamon brown in the grain and matches nicely. The bamboo is nice because in low light it almost looks like piano black trim and in bright light the color of the garin comes out and looks really good in contrast to the seats and black trim imo.

Your new X5 looks outstanding!! I just ordered the exact same color combination (production in August). Can you post a few more pics of the Cinnamon Brown Interior when you get a chance? I haven't seen one in-person yet and choosing from the small color sample is difficult to get a good idea about the actual look of the color.

I too have an '08 550i and am looking at the '11 X5 5.0i. How would you compare the ride and handling of the X5? I'll most likely get the Sport Actvity package with the 20's. Do you have active steering and did your 550i?

Can you post a picture of the "BMW performance black grills"? Also is there a BMW Part number for this item?

Thanks!

Thanks! I will try to take a few more pics and capture the real color. Having a hard time getting the color on pictures. Tried "No Flash" and didnt work. Im leaving town until next week, will try then.

Welcome! I recognize you from e60.net. I have no regrets and cant wait to get in and drive the X5 just as much as I did the 550. As i posted above, the only dissapointment for me was the starting of the engine, missing the sound of the 550, and it doesnt pull as violently from a stop as the 550 did when you gun it but, im comparing the 550 to an X5 35i and im also trying to keep under 4,000 RPMs for the break in. I feel theres still a lot more to tap into in the 35i. This obviously wont be a problem with the 50i you are thinking about.

The ride with adaptive drive and sport settings is VERY similiar to driving the 550. The pros, its a tank and gobbles up road imperfections, feels precise, very smooth (even w/20s), and i like the new ride height (SAV). The con, sometimes it feels like you are in a SUV, a little bouncy, just barely though and only on occassion. Im sure nothing like other SUVs (RX350, Ford Explorer - my experiences).

I had active steering in the 550i and have it in the new X5. I have a hard time driving cars without it now after 6 years. Loaners always feel like im driving a car with 2 flat front tires of the lot. The test drive in the X5 35i without AS, Sport PKG, and Adaptive Drive didnt feel as good to me as my new one and I was very happy with how everything came together on this as ordered. Good luck with your order!
