2011 Nav CD

I have an 07 X5 with the original Nav DVD. I got a postcard in the mail from BMW offering me a 2011 DVD for $199. What advantage does the updated DVD have aside from new roads/cultural info? Is traffic ANY better? I live in LA and the traffic updates suck. Is the map format essentially the same? I don't like the way the roads are laid out and the colors are pretty boring to me. The picture on the postcard had a lovely Nav Screen shown with all these features mine doesn't have, but I'm sure it's the 2011 X5 version.

Usually just map updates.

There are updates for firmware but BMW will not supply these for you but will charge you for any update. Having said that I have not looked into whether there are any firmware updates for the E70 nav.

Stock photo since all the BMW's are going with HD nav's. If you live in the midwest the new 2010+ dvd's are a pain in the a$$ There are now 2 dvd's which sucks when you have to cross states which are covered by two different dvd's I switch out my 10 dis for my 09 disk when I am going to cross disks. Never mind, your in CA not an issue.
