2011 35i Prm. Want to acquire the lease?

I'm just putting this out there as a feeler. I leased this 2011 X5, Platinum gray with Oyster leather, premium package with the aluminum side steps, iPod integration, and not much else. I've had the car since July 27, 2010, lease ends July 27, 2013. The car is gorgeous, and the turbo is really breaking in nicely. Currently, it has 6,372 on the odometer, and allowed 45K until lease end.

The payments are $588/month including taxes, and I put $5k down (no security deposit).

I'm making some life changes, and would like to get out of some financial responsibilities. Time to start fresh.

Does anyone here have information about lease transfers? Anyone interested in the discussion? What's the best way out? How do my numbers look?

Looking forward to some feedback here.

Looks great, I'll take it.

swapalease and leasetrader are probably where to look.

Your issue is two fold: people want the options they want, so you need to take a loss to have them take what you have. Dealers can give them the same monthly payment you have, so you have to take a loss.

Then add in the fact that people that lease are by and large not 'number savvy' and therefore only a small percentage would consider a lease assumption with it's perceived issues.

I am sure you will come to regret that $5k down.

Thanks for your input ard, everything is up for negotiation ($5k).

Can you really get that payment on this car from the dealer with 15k/year? Right now?

No. I think the numbers I saw on a base model no frills X5 were around 800 bucks a month. I am paying twice what your payment is. That's a pretty good deal for someone who doesn't care much for having every option out there, and wants a killer deal. You will be able to swap that very quick if you just ask someone to assume it.

What do you mean by negotiable ($5K)?

I'd be interested in talking to you about it. Also curious what you mean by 5k negotiable.

I had put my 3 series on Craigslist.org and found someone to take over the lease. BMW Financial is great about lease transfers. Post some pics on Craigslist and I'm sure someone is willing to take it over. You've seem to have gotten a good deal on your lease. Good Luck!

OP means that if someone wants to take over the lease there would need to be a negotiation as to how much of the $5k down he loses, or how much you pay!

Duh.

And why do people put hegotiations or sales inquiries in publich posts? Just telegraphs to others what's going on (ie possible competitors)

Hi! I'm just wanting to revisit this. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in taking over my lease. The car is still gorgeous, and I'd really like to move on to something different, most likely a pick-up truck, since I'm getting into rebuilding old homes here in the northeast. I need something a bit more rugged, something that i won't fuss over while trying to avoid every little scratch.

As an update, the car has about 13k for mileage, leaving about 32k miles until the end of the lease on July 27, 2013. Lots of miles to go! This is a great deal for anyone close enough to the Boston area.

Thanks!
