Buy from your local dealer and build an ongoing relationship with them. When something invariably goes wrong they will be there to help with BMWNA to your benefit. If you nickel and dime them, they will return the "favor" when you are in a pickle.

Thanks all the comments and help here, we had cut a deal with local dealer which met our expectation.

We finally settled with 2012 35i, space grey, black interior, bamboo trim, convenience package, 3rd row seat, rear window shades.

I have put deposit ordering 2011 35d on last Wednesday which was also my wife's B day, when I gave that peice of paper to her, she was quite surprised and very happy afterwards, although I did mention to her before and she did like the car, but she didn't think I was serious.

After some discussion with my wife, it was obvious man and women has totally different emphasis on cars, so we converted the order to 2012 35i today. Here is some factors:

1. 35i is one year advance than 35d, at least on numbers
2. 3rd row seat is our must have option and is now avaliable on 2012 35i. we have two boys and my parents and in laws visit us occasionally.
3. We have huge difference taste on options: I have put some options I like or I think she would like on 35d which turned out not the case. For example, I like the heated leather in my car very much, but my wife hated sth warming her as* and asked me to order cloth seat , after telling her X5 is LUXURY car and has no such option, she is even little disappointed; It turned out most of option I have put there she may not use them at all. And we are about to keep this car for 7-10 yrs, more options may meaning more trouble in the long run.
4. I loved 35d power, but 35i has more than enough power for her already.
5. 35i base saved $5000 than 35d, it's not fair comparison because of different options, but my wife didn't think that way, she is already planning a nice vacation with that money.

The only thing she missed is PDC, which is unavaliable in 35i base. But after telling her we need to go 35i premium to get it, and costed $$$$,
she immediately can live without it

Thank you all again and we joined bimmer family.

BTW, for who may interested, the base invoice on 35i base between 2011 and 2012 are different since 2012 has more features, however, the invoice on options are the same

Base invoice on 35i base
2011: 42595; Apr 1.9%
2012: 43425; Apr 2.9%
