The car I bought has the piano black trim. It's definitely not worth it to me to buy the carbon trim but I figured maybe someone has the carbon and wants the black.

I do not dislike the black trim I just think the carbon looks better.

Very few people have the X5M on this forum (you can't get carbon on the other trim levels) but remember the trim is very delicate so you have to ask yourself "what will I do if I break a major piece?"

Ok, Thanks for your help. I searched "trim swap" in the e70 forum, 14 threads came up none with anything useful.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the boards

If you haven't already you could always try more BMW forums...the more the better

Seems to me your in no rush, so wait till there are more X M owners out there who might want to try a different look.

If you do decide to sell the Piano Black I'd be interested. I have dark bamboo and like it but love the piano black.

I was thinking the same thing.

Or order the carbon trim pieces and sell the piano black. That would be a net outlay of $$ for sure but there has to be fair demand for piano black trim out there because it's so rare.

FWIW, I have the carbon leather trim in my M3 and love it.

Or since you know at least one member on here is willing to buy the piano black trim and if you are to vinyl the trim pieces they need to come out anyway..

you could sell the trim + exchange with the member and get the exchanged ones vinyled.

might be even cheaper
