I've had to buy a few trim pieces (aluminum) to replace ones that got damaged.

Door trim parts are a PITA. door panels need to be removed to remove trim.

The dashboard parts are ok. Easiest bits.

The center console is a complete nightmare. Took about 3 hours to take apart.

The aluminum trim ranged from $125 for a small door part to $180 for a long piece.

As a quick guess. To do a AL trim swap for parts would be around $1300 for parts.

To get dealer to do swap. They would need 6-8 hrs.

I'll keep you in mind, definitely going to see what the dealer would charge for the carbon trim.

I'd probably keep the black before going that route

Or order the carbon trim pieces and sell the piano black. That would be a net outlay of $$ for sure but there has to be fair demand for piano black trim out there because it's so rare.

FWIW, I have the carbon leather trim in my M3 and love it.
+1

FYI. The Piano Black trim will scratch just just like the exterior paint on a car. I have black Bamboo in both my 550 and X5 5.0 and my 550 has really dark bamboo and you can see every scratch on the trim pieces. I would hate to see your interior trim look like S&%t the sun highlight every scratch while you drive your beautiful machine.
