The sound, performance, handling and materials on the ML63 were excellent...but so many electrical issues and rattles, squeaks, clunks. Mechanical issues too. So disappointing, considering they were both almost $95,000 each!

How are you enjoying the G55? Better quality and less rattles?

Cheers,

Our next vehicle will more than likely be an ED 5 series to replace my wife's '05 Pontiac Vibe. It was the first vehicle we bought together. It's only got 55k on it now so I've still got another 100,000 miles to put on it(hopefully) so I'll probably catch the next generation 5. I'm crossing my fingers they will have a diesel version over here by then.

Now that the wife is at home with child, the X has been stolen from me, parked in the garage for her occaisional use due to the safety factor, and I'm driving the crap car to work.

At least it's easy to keep clean this way.
25,000 miles in 2 years. At least 20k of those are long-haul highway miles.

We had the first-year, first-gen '98 ML320 and it had tons of problems too. The main computer would die once a year, no joke. The a/c fuse would blow regularly. When it's 115F in Phoenix and you have a cranky and sweaty 2 year old in the back seat, that's no fun at all. That was the only car we ever got rid of before the warranty expired. Kinda sad to hear that the ML still has quality issues, I would've thought MB had them worked out by now.

Anyway back on topic, we have a 2012 X5 35i on order to replace my wife's 2002 X5 3.0. I tried to talk her into checking out a Cayenne, but she wouldn't even go for a test drive. Said it was "ugly". Sigh. I really wanted a Porsche in the garage to break up the BMW monotony of the past 10 years. Porsche has got to do something about the godawful rear shoulders and rear end of the Cayenne.

I'd get a 3 series convertible or a new 535i Sedan. When the 2006 325i is ready to go I'm sure it will be replaced with another 3 series sedan as well.
