Just bought my 2008 X5 over the weekend

Hi all -

I'm new to the X5 board since this is my first X5, although I'm not new to BMW. I'm a BMW enthusiast and currently own an 07 M5, 05 330ci, and now... an 08 X5 3.0si. I got it from BMW of Alexandria and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Here's the spec of my X5:

2008 X5 3.0si
31,500 miles
Space Gray Exterior w/ black interior
Cold Weather Package
Rear Climate Package
Premium Package
Technology Package
3rd Row Seat
Rear seat entertainment
Power liftgate
Dark burl walnut wood trim
iPod and USB adapter
SAT radio
Running Board

Dealer was asking for $39,900 but I got them down to $35,000. Wanted to see if this was a good price for this car. I thought it was too good a deal to pass up since I've seen other X5s with much higher mileage and less options go for even higher. Thanks for taking your time to respond.

I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

Kiet

Dealer just replaced the center console trim, steering wheel trim, door handle trim, fix a minor issue with the AC unit. She's practically new again. Thumbs Up for BMW of Sterling for doing the work and all under warranty too. I even get to drive the hardtop convertible 328i for a week.

No... this was standard factory warranty. I have CPO Warranty on my M5 and it's no way near as good as the factory warranty.

Congrats. And I think ard was asking does it have the CPO (coverage once the factory warranty runs out) ?

There is no CPO that 'competes' with a factory warranty...these are not 'either ors' the factory goes to 50k, the CPO goes to 100k, The CPO is equivalent to the BMW "GOLD PLAN" extended warranty.

Sure it isn't as good as the 50k warranty, but when you are at 70k miles that 'great' factory warranty isn't much help, is it?

Anyway, just asking to calibrate pricing...

A

PS.. know you from M5 board...

I just paid $36k for an 08 4.8i with 35k miles, CPO, and similar options. Sounds good to me, Congrats. I too just had the interior trim, knobs and door pulls replaced and now have a refreshed interior.

Wow you got a pretty good price. What month was your truck put in service...early or late 2008?

I paid $38k for my CPO 08/2007 4.8i in January 2011 with...
- Sport package (19" w/ all seasons)
- 3rd row seating
- Navigation
- Premium Pkg
- Cold weather pkg
- HUD
- Nappa leather
- Comfort access
- Contour seats

I don't think I overpaid but I could have probably gotten it a bit cheaper if I worked them harder. I just loved the truck and they already dropped from $40k so I said screw it and bought the thing. Also my 2005 3.0i was starting to get the tranny shudder and had 98k miles on it, needed something newer with a warranty.

Warranty expires in may of 12 before cpo kicks in so I assume may of 08. I don't have 3rd row or hud though. I emailed every dealer in socal for about 2 months to find that deal.
