Any reason NOT to use adaptive drive?

Is there any reason not to use AD all the time? For reference, my setup is 2012 X5 50i, Dinan stage 1, M-sport package, 20-inch wheels.

When I hit the Sport button to activate AD in my truck, the suspension is considerably stiffer, or so it feels. It can be harsh on you and your passengers, especially at higher speeds.

If I'm not mistaken, adaptive drive is on all the time (assuming one has it). Pressing the sport button merely activates the stiffer normal setting. I personally stay away from the sport setting and only use it on off ramps, twisty roads, or certain surfaces where a less bouncy ride is prefered.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have a 2007. I guess it was different back then, when AD was included in the sport package.

Correct. AD is on all the time, you just change the dynamic control parameters with the 'sport' setting.

Interesting. I've tried to find this so many times and can't ever find proper documentation about this. There was a thread not too long ago asking similar questions.

I never thought I'd say this....

Thanks ard.
