New BMW X5 35i

Hi, I just picked up my X5 yesterday. It is awesome!

What kind of fuel do you use for your car? The manual says 91 is highly recommended but 87 minimum.

Also, what % tint do you have on your car? I am looking at 20% or 35%.

I have 35% on my M3, and will likely do something similar on the X5.

are you sure it's minimum 87? SHould be minimum 91.

I have 35% tint and think it's perfect since cops are strict in NY. Even though we're not supposed to do the driver/passenger doors, they can still see me from the sides thru light coming in through the front windshield so they should have less of an issue. Point is, don't go too dark or you'll be worrying every time.

This is what it says on the manual. I personally won't be using 87, however, I want to see what people actually use. In the other forums, I see that people using 91+ only.

Do you have the tint on the front windows as well (driver and front passenger side)? Is it too dark at night?

Down here in Texas, the difference between 89 and 91 is about $.10 a gallon. If you fill up 3 times a month that comes out to @$6/month you are saving--that's nothing. I always run 93--these are high performance engines.

91 minimum. Buying a $60k vehicle and then skimping on $5/month?

Yes and it's not too dark at night, you can see out of 35% pretty easily. But the nice thing is they can't see in at night without artificial light at all. Except from the front windshield that is.

Congrats on the X5, looks great, remember the tint will look darker, no matter what you get since you have a Blk/blk... I know this from experience...
