I used to own X5 and currently own GL. You may think twice before switching to GL. It's a totally different car, more like a bus compared to X5. I would suggest you to take a test drive before you make this decision. I agree with previous posters ( if you like X5 ) - I'd take 3 months for free and move on.

Let them fix it, take the 3 month gift and move on. If you owned it, I might have a different suggestion, but it's a lease with a significant warranty and maintenance program behind it that you won't have to pay out of pocket for during the lease, if anything goes wrong you're covered, and it's not a visible cosmetic problem, so the only person who knows your X had an operation is you.

Extend to others what you would like extended to you. Whatever product or service you provide others to create your livelihood cannot be without flaws. Stuff happens and try as we might, sometime things don't go as planned. When the expectations are not achieved you would not want your customer/boss/significant other to "switch brands". One would want and expect consideration in the event of an issue. Your dealer has stepped up to the plate and provided you wth a more than fair resolution IMO. Go with it and be happy with the vehicle you initially chose. Talk of abandoning the marque because of this issue does not make sense.

i cant imagine wasting your time trying to get a new car over something so minor. the 3 month offer is really generous. theres something wrong with every car on the road.

Thanks for the Input,

I have talked to the dealer and made my mind, by replacing it with exact same vehicle.

they were nice enough to do the tint and wheel arches as I have now.

I did drove the GL, and I do kind of like them besides their navi screen is so small and steering wheel is so skinny. My wife gave me great opinion for the 3rd row seating.

GL has nice 3rd row seating but it is useless when we don't need them and it is just way too big and too narrow compare to X5

I was going to buy the car after lease is over so I will not fix it rather we will just get the new one.

thanks, and I will post the vin, if you would like, but the dealer said they will send it back to BMW NA.

thanks

THEY may send it to BMW, but then BMW will auction it and a used car dealer somewhere will offer it for sale.

I tracked down my old one... posted about all the issues, the buyback, then eventually the VIN popped up. I suspect someone bought it and never did a google search...
