iPhone 5 working fine on 2013 X5

The iPhone 5 seems to function better than my 4s in several areas.
Obviously the docking tray no longer works, but the new Lightning to USB cables functions perfectly. Pandora, Music all work as before.

Bluetooth seems to function better, specifically the Office functions finally are working, both text and email. They are still both contained in the Text section, but they both now load instantly which it never did on the 4s.

It will only display the first few lines while driving, but the voice will read the entire email or text. The main improvement is speed, they load as soon as the appear on the iPhone.

The message feature is actually one of the new features built into ios6, you don't need the iPhone 5 to use the function. With ios6 you can get messages with the 4s too. I upgraded my 4s last night and I can now read texts and emails.

Yes, but as I said, this works much better now. Not sure why, but on the 4s its quite buggy and slow. The emails appear instantly with the 5.

So I must be doing something wrong - my iphone 4s with IOS6 does not allow me to see my email or text messages...any thing I need to do to make it work - I look under the office menu and I have messages - but the only messages there are the ones I have sent the car from google....

4s was flakey for me too, not sure why the 5 works better.
A few things to try:
1- make sure you have Mail and Messages set to display in NOTIFICATIONS menu on your lock screen.
2- make sure its set to display 5 or less

You will only see mail and messages when they are displayed via notification on your lock screen.

Make sure the Bluetooth version on the phone supports the MAP profile.

I can only get iphone 5 to work. 4s was very buggy.
