Just booked a service at my local dealer to fix two small issues before my main warranty is up and CPO kicks in. The rep on the phone added this recall to the work order before I even mentioned it to her. She said it came up when she pulled my vin #.

Here's an article about the recall of 250,000 BMW X5 diesels in Auto World News.

(Sorry, there's some annoying videos on that web page.)

Link fixed

Just called the dealership today. They still had not heard about this issue! Anyway, when they ran my VIN the recall came up (surprise, surprise!). Luckily, they had the parts in stock. Took the car to them right after hanging up and was back in a couple of hours.

Called my dealership to reschedule the back lens replacement today.
Asked for the recall, and they'll do it next week, with the lens.

Hey 10-X5-35d, why will you not miss your X1 (sorry for the off topic question)?

Mine said they would do it when I had it in for a lost/new key programming. They said there was a software update as well, but couldn't do it as their computer was down. Since the computer was down, they didn't do the bolt either. Frustrating.

Crap, I hope they don't do a software update on mine, I have a tune in it that I wasn't able to get out before it went to the dealership.
