I think I made a HUGE mistake !
Here are my options: 1. Back out of the entire deal and get my Jeep back. 2. Be patient with the dealer and allow them to figure out the problem/s 3. Choose a different vehicle and they will give me a great deal on it. However, I really like the Alpine white 2011 + X5 and the only thing they have is a brand new 2013 for $61k I am also concerned about the following with this vehicle. * Lack of bluetooth streaming from my iPhone 5 * iPhone 5 won't play when connected via USB (haven't tried a y cable yet) * Cannot CLOSE the tailgate from the console button or remote controls * Lack of LED halos on headlamps * No sunshade * The most annoying seat-belt warning system on the planet I am just looking for any suggestions from other owners regarding this nightmare. My main concern is that I didn't buy myself a constant headache of a vehicle. I wanted an X5 for the exact opposite reason, dependability and longevity. Thanks |

back out of it!!!
there are other ones out there that you can find, if you are after an X5 - if this one started giving you issues from day one, it will continue doing so... back out of this one, search for another one - check the BMW NA for the CPOs in your price range in neighboring dealers, and have it shipped to you for free, test it and if you like it, then buy it... this ordeal alone should be enough for you to back out the deal, and if the need be, involve the state consumer protection agency |

Actually, I had similar problem with my prev X5, which came out to be steering sensor needing calibration, which is like 15 min procedure...

he has compromised his reputation, and i would not buy from him... is there a lemon law in IL? Our shop just received a white E70 with couple hundred bullet holes, and our guys are going to bring the car back into life - armored vehicle, so the internal guts are all good (occupants were scared to death but all survived)... i still would not buy it (it is NOT for sale!!) after they fix it, who knows what else is wrong with it... same with this one in IL - walk away from it now, while you have a chance, this car is becoming a Frankenstein!!! |

Thanks for the feedback. I am leaning towards the RUN AWAY option but I am going to wait until Friday before asking for my down payment and Jeep back. The only thing that keeps me stable is that the dealer is trying to do everything possible to get this resolved (at least thats the impression they are giving me) AND this car has absolutely NO negative service history.
Maybe the X5 is just not good for me, my second loaner was a 2012 X5 3.5D with 13k miles on it. The check engine light was on when they gave it to me and I had to swap it out today for a Mercedes C300 loaner since the light never extinguished. Unreal |

Jeep all the way. Wait around for the right vehicle to come around.... Unless you're in a rush?

make sure they do not sell your Jeep - then you will have no choice left... besides, what kind of dealership is it - one car is acting up, another one has check engine light - are they trying to scare you off? |
