Curiosity sometimes leads to strange questions

The context for my query is explained in my earlier thread about being hit by a deer one week ago: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ot-deploy.html

The body shop tells me I will not see the 2012 X5 before January 6. It does seem that my insurance will cover all the expenses in the body shop estimate as the body shop suggested by BMW is one of their approved vendors.

So is it impossible to 'trade' the 2012 X5 for a 2015 X5 before the repairs are completed and the insurance has signed off?

I have wanted one more new X5 but my wife does not support me. However, there is enough 'mystery' in the air at the moment that I was just curious about the scenario that I cannot dismiss although it seems impossible to me.
