Thumbs down 2009 X5 is acting funny,

my 2009 recently while i drive it seems to pick up speed and slow down on it own, Not sure what can be causing this?

I am stepping on the gas steady, the car Jerks, it seems to pick up speed and then it goes back to the normal speed it should be going. I don't know how to explain it.

Does this makes sense? I am driving at 50mph, car all of a suddens picks up speed on its own. Then settles back to 50mph...

What you say make sense. The car is surging. It use to be
on older cars when the cruise control was set you could get this
sensation. If part of carb was out of adjustment.

Today with so much computer controls hard to say. Got to be in
the throttle area. If a sensor a code could be
stored.
