LED license plate lights on! They are Ziza lights from ECS tuning which seems to be the favorite on the website. IMO they are just superb! Works as advertised: a nice bright whiteish/blueish shine with no error codes!

Here's the video I used as a guide (not the greatest but gives you an idea). I did not unplug anything even, just took out the metal housing and swapped the bulbs out, pushed unlock to test.

I also used plastic tools as to avoid scratching up the paint, works well.

I'm looking at doing an LED halo light upgrade. After a search, it seems that LUX is the preferred one. I'm just looking for a nice LED look that's plug and play, don't want to mess with any wiring.

What are people's thoughts on these?:
LUX H8 V4 - Color Adjustable Angel Eyes | Lux Angel Eyes

For those who own them, how have they held up? Any issues? Any error codes? Thanks in advance!

If I don't need the adjustability, would the ebay ones work the same?

Just need to plastidip those rear red bumper reflectors. I think that's my next move on my '08. We got ours about the same week! Nice.

Haha thanks guys! I want to do a bit more research on the LEDs, but busy this week. As for the reflectors, I am thinking about getting painted ones for the side, maybe plasti the rear, but I'm not sure I want it to lose its reflecting properties since I'm always parked in a parking lot (though if you miss an X5 you really shouldn't be driving lol). And yes the car-mance is going strong, love the sound of the V8!

Yep I installed the Bimmian painted ones on my silver, looks great! However I did end up releasing the one time use rivets on the driver's side fender flare to get into the tight spot. Fortunately the dealer replaced the three i removed free.
