Are the regular seat that much worse than comfort?

So while shopping for our 2011 I have to pass on so many very well optioned cars based on the fact they have no comfort seats, are the comfort seats that much better to pass on great cars?

I have no issues with my non-comfort seats. They are leather

Not really, my X5M has regular seats and my diesel has the comfort seats and I don't notice a huge difference. The two things that I personally like about the comfort seats is that the top half of the Back rest is adjustable and the side bolsters are also adjustable....those are the only two things I find better about comfort vs non and of course the vented seats would also be a nice to have. I had my diesel with comfort seats first and I didn't find them good enough to pass on my X5M when I found the options/color combo I wanted.

the regular seats feel like flat pancakes compared to the comfort seats but that may be good or bad depending on the person. I think if you WANT comfort seats you will be a little bummed by the pancakes but if you are luke warm I don't think it will matter all that much.

My wife is also really skinny and not so wide so the comfort seat would hold her better, ok cool thanks guys.

Im getting closer to booking a flight to get me an X5!

I'm 6'5, so comfort seats are nice since I can move the top half forward. Also really nice to have the ability to set how much heat/air ventilation goes to my back versus butt

Some people dont mind the seats one way or the other.

Some people are driven to misery.... considering $5000 to change them, or trading the car in for another.

Until you know which group you and the wife will fall into, DO NOT ask our opinions!

Remember, get a PPI- dont trust any used car dealer.

Both me and my parents hated the standard seats on the E70. Backache after 30 minutes and that's with the 4-way electric lumbar adjustability.

My 0,02€ is that all the standard seats in modern BMWs are pretty rubbish.

I have the sport seats and find them to be very comfy. It's got some nice side bolsters to hold you in and a leg extension, but lacks the upper back adjuster. There's a lot more sports than ones with comfort seats I feel like (didnt see too many when i was shopping around). Good for long trips, I go back and forth from MI to IL (chicago) a lot and always feel good after the trip. I'm 6 ft 190lbs for a reference pt.
