Place in NYC to Change my Front Brake Pads
Anyone has any recommendation, Suggestions, people they dealt with and did a good job, What is the best brakes I can get for my 2009 X5 4.8? I am dumb when it comes to stuff like this. Happy Holidays

Does anyone know by average how much it cost to change the break pads? Ballpark figure.
thanks this is my first time changing taking my breaks to change on my bmw Dealer as Oppose as body shop

![]() Did you look up the cost of parts? I seem to recall parts around $350. Labor is 1 hr to 4 hrs, depending on how much they want to make. I **think** the 'book time' is 2 hours or 2.6 hrs to do brake and rotors. But that is a bit of a guess. And if you go to an indy you will almost certainly get aftermarket parts. Which is fine. I usually use OE pads, and any rotor (metal is metal for DDs). But many idys will misrepresent this.... They can make as much on the parts mark up as they make on labor. |

i have no idea.
By and large I've found ECS to sell standard aftermarket stuff, at a 20% mark up. While their excuse is "we carefully select only the best vendors to deliver proven solutions", you can usually do better. JMO Personally I'll buy any rotor (like centric or zimmerman) and BMW OE pads. Worked fine, its a SUV, no complaints from the wife... |
