Question No One Can Hear Me

Hey everyone, no one can hear me on my bluetooth mic. Thinking I will replace the microphone but can not seem to find the part without replacing the entire overhead unit.

Anyone able to just get the mic and replace successfully? Hopefully

Hmm, isn't it somewhat unusual for the microphone to go bad so early? Have you checked if your MUTE button is not turned on by accident?

Sounds like you are jumping to wrong conclusions. Have you done basic troubleshooting to verify the microphone is not working?

The easiest way to check if the microphone is working: use voice navigation (button on the steering wheel).

Part number: 84.31.8.380.319 will probably work fine.

Edit: Oops, maybe not...I thought I was still on a E60 forum. Not sure how the mic is integrated into the E70.

My bluetooth mic died about 5 years in and had it replaced under [3rd party] warranty. Multiple phones would not work (I can hear them but they can't hear me). They replaced the whole unit (they claimed it was required or maybe it was just a money-grab).

I looked at http://www.realoem.com for you but couldn't find it - maybe you'll have better luck.

Thanks everyone, yes, I have done basic troubleshooting.

Everyone who talks to me says I sound like I am in a tunnel. Multiple phones and I talk directly into the Mic port in the overhead console.

Tried on GetBMWParts.com to find it but only find the full 400$ console.
