3500 for alignment? Isn't this under warranty? What's diagnosed issue?

They couldn't get it to align properly. Said no mfg defect and that it must have been damaged somehow, although there's no visible problem. I was rear ended last fall (about a month after I bought the car), and that's their out I suppose. The problem is that they didn't diagnose anything and gave me a quote to replace pretty much all of the suspension on the side that wouldn't align.

SAV eh? A little bump and scratches and it has lost its charm.
Believe you can still claim it back from insurance if diagnosed to be due to accident. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk |

Go back to insurance... hopefully they are still on the hook. Did your insurnace handle or the guy that hit you? IMO you want the muscle of your insurer behind you... the dealer can BS you, but throw an adjuster in the mix and they'll be more, shall we say, attentive. IMO |

Car at dealership, they have admitted fault, phew... This was my biggest worry they might give all sorts of excuse and say this is normal. So now they are looking at options what could have been wrong.
will keep you guys posted. |

Dealer got back to me. First he said it was sticking throttle body was replaced that understandbly didn't fix the problem. They were almost set to replace the transfer box but they had to get this authorized from head office. Head office advised dealer to change transfer box fluid first.
Transfer box fluid change did seem to fix the problem according to dealer, I am yet to get the car and see if it has indeed cured the problem. |

I have the exact same issue - I just bought the X5 two weeks ago, 2012 40d with 27000 miles on it.
I went to one of my friends last night who also has a 40d and we drove them both back to back on the same route, mine was really juddering on tight turns with power on whilst his was perfect.... I need to get it checked, it runs fine on a straight road, problem is I'm goin gto France next week on holiday with it - I know the dealer will tell me they need it for a while to check it out..... |

Mine took 2 days to get sorted, shouldn't take longer for you. Better you get it looked at before you go for a long drive.
