AFTER MARKET EXTENDED WARRANTY INFO NEEDED

Hello,
I have searched but have not found much. Anyone has any recommendations for a reputable after market warranty company, and cost. I am in the market for one, but not sure whose to call. My Credit Union try to sell me one from CUNA Mutual Group. They said covers everything, except normal wear and tear for up to 48 months or 48k miles on top of the current mileage, cost is $1400 with $250 deductible.

Ask for a SAMPLE POLICY (not a descriptive brochure)...post it, I'll give you my opinion.

"they said it covers..." is not a good plan for research

I had extended warranty on my previous BMW, it didn't cover half of the things I needed. so now I just stay away from it

The devil is in the details ...

See small italic print in brochure. It says

"Good at any authorized repair facility in the U.S.or Canada" (Operative word here is authorized facility! Who are they?)

and

"*See Vehicle Service Contract/Insurance Policy for any state variations"

and

"This brochure is intended to provide only a summary of the Vehicle Service Contract/Insurance Policy. We encourage our members to read the contract for specifics on coverages, exclusions and limitations."

Ask your credit union to give you a sample contract for your state. What state are you in?

Since this is more than likely an insurance policy, your state law will govern whether or not the company is required to provide an insurance contract sample, or not.

Usually they entice you to sign up with a fancy brochure like the PDF, and offer full cancellation option if you don't want it for any reason .. Problem is, when would you know that you don't want it??? After you've paid for it and when a claim is denied?
