I think they have "Book Hours" on how long work is on issues and can't vary too much from it.

Read my post above yours ("Worst car I ever owned")...I just went through the oil and coolant leak and I'm out of warranty...you just confirmed what I stated...prices to fix are out of this world!!!

Nope, it's exactly what they quoted me. I had a timing cover leak and the charge was $6K and the coolant leak charge was $6.5K. I even looked it up online on other forums.

BMW=Bring My Wallet to the repair shop

Biggest POS car I've ever owned.

Did you price it out at an Indy shop ? Never go to the dealer after warranty unless it's something you don't feel comfortable an Indy can fix (or if same price as dealer). I had my previous X5 for 9 years, rarely any issues and always shopped to get better price at an Indy.

My indie shop owner even told me to stay away from E70 X5's but of course I didn't listen! He was a BMW master tech & shop foreman for years...
