Center Console Armrest Loose

I noticed the drivers half of my center console armrest is pretty loose. Its as though the hinge is out of tolerance or not secured to the body of the car. The passenger side appears to be ok.

Anyone else see this before and know how to repair it?

I've attached a video of the wiggle.

I just replaced the entire center console armrest from oyster to black and I can tell it was a pain in the a$$. Based on my experience the armrest door is on a hinge which cannot be fixed and you would have to replace the entire armrest.

I tried just changing out the armrest door and it would not come apart.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the insight.

So I can not replace just one half of the arm rest?

You said it looks like a pain in the a$$ to replace. I tried last weekend and got so far and gave up. Did you find a DIY or insight on how to replace it? Or did you just wing it?

Based on my experience replacing one side is not an option. You have to replace both because its an entire piece. I found some PDF's that are on here somewhere on this site but they really weren't much help.

In order to remove the armrest you need to pull the carpet on the side of the center console far enough to get a screwdriver or drill. There are 2 screws on each side and then it just pulls out. But in order to access the carpet you have to push forward the front 2 seats to maximum.

I will if I find the PDF's.

Finally for a new armrest I would suggest ebay, thats where I got mine.
