On top of that it doesn't sound like a good time for you to be taking on more debt but you're a grown man and that's for you to decide.

Can you refinance the X5?
our payments are set payments bi weekly and it's all direct banking so we just made sure we had the money in the bank and left it at that.. they don't send us monthly or yearly invoices or anything so we never knew in that regard.. only reason we started to catch on was we called recently after 2 yrs of owning the vehicle and when they told us how much was left our jaws hit the floor.. my wife's brother than got their finance team to look and see what was going on, after some digging then found out and explained it all to us.. they were pretty choked how they tricked us because at my wife's brother's dealership they are really big on verbal agreements, hand shakes and all that old school stuff, they said the other local business around here are usually too.. so what they said is they will take our X5 in and wipe the 18k if we get a 2014 model vehicle since they have more leverage with them

i technically don't care if we get the Ram because i'll be getting my vehicle next year most likely.. it just sucks cuz i won't be driving a BMW until than.. BMW's just have a nice feel to them and when u drive some where there's some class to it

+1..

the APR/loan term is the first thing I look at when trying to get a loan.
OP, 2 years and no idea you were paying 18%?...
If it was my money, I wouldn't spend 50k on a dodge no matter what options it has.try refinancing the X..I agree with the above..more debt doesn't look like a wise move but it's your money I wish you good luck!

I mean this nicely, but any time you sign paperwork you NEED TO LOOK AT IT People play these games all the time and if you are not careful you will get scammed. I am sorry to hear about your troubles but I would refinance and move forward.

ya i should have double checked the paper work ..
before we try refinancing my wife's brother's work said they would in house finance us for 3k down on the purchase of a 2014 vehcile.. kind of tempting since it will have warranty for awhile..
the X5 warranty runs out in 30k km's and has been pretty maintenance heavy, seems every 4 months we have to bring it to the shop and without warranty our bills on average would have been $600-800 so that's another down side..
we are having a hard time getting a co-sign so if we can't do that im not sure if we can even refinance..
we have money, we never miss payments but our credit sucks because we did stupid things when we were younger with credit cards and then worked from home with out claiming for awhile..
so we have money but no credit just yet, just started rebuilding so doesn't help our situation
