2009 E70 X5 Towing / Vehicle Recovery Points

Hi everybody,

Recently my neighbor was stuck in his Honda Accord in his flat, icy driveway. All he needed was a gentle tug and I volunteered to help him, but when I got there I realized that I could not find a single tow point on the X5. Nothing on the front or rear. I have no towing package, but I thought I would find something.

My question is:
If I want to pull on something with my X5 how would I do it?
If I am stuck somewhere, how can the X5 get pulled out?

I realize there is a tow eye in the trunk but is that really the only option?

Thanks

That is what the tow eye is for. Just make sure you pull straight on it; it doesn't stand up well to off-angle pulls.

Using a hitch is easier for those of us with one installed.
