Congrats on the purchase. Continue to read the manual. And know that there are a lot of BMW Genius videos on youtube that might be helpful, too.

Congratulations also!
My experience in around 10k miles is that the simple operational stuff is as easy as any modern Beemer, but I keep learning deeper things from time to time. The phone connectivity and music being my latest delight as I finally figured out how to properly get music from Android without spending too much time with phone in hand! The i-Drive functions go deep and if I’m waiting in the car I’ll use the time to refresh my knowledge of the functions. There’s a lot to know, I think. Overall, my F15 feels very much like the sorted variety of vehicle - nothing dramatic, nothing much to go wrong, it does the job without fuss. Maybe that’s why this forum is quiet compared to E53 land - where we have a lot more to keep us engaged?! |

Congrats on the purchase. I hope to talk the wife into an f15 diesel after her e70 becomes impractical to keep.

I'd bet the f15 forum picks up steam as they age. That is assuming they have not gotten too complicated/difficult to work on.

Ditto Crystalworks in regards to the type of posts on the F15 forum. They are still in their honeymoon stage. Some are still under the original warranty so the DIY stuff is still rare and mostly simple things like oil changes and some simple modification/upgrades like changing wheels/tires, or blacking out chrome, and tinting windows etc.
Give them a few more years when big ticket items start wearing out/breaking down...and 2nd/3rd/4th owners have to either pay for it or learn to do it themselves because there's no warranty...or they find out that the extended aftermarket warranty they paid for won't cover the repair.
